VPAC: Funding for Education programs HPC and Scientific Computing Education
and Training
VPAC is currently budgeted to spend $400K p.a. on education and training.
Educational materials developed by VPAC and other APAC
Partners will be available at no change to VPAC Members. VPAC intends to
fund development of two separate programs:
- A web site and resource centrefor information about choosing,
configuring, maintaining, and using Cluster Computers for production HPC
use.
- Development of educational material for HPC and Scientific Computing.
Such materials might include subjects in courses or short courses. VPAC
funding would give VPAC Members and APAC Partners non-exclusive rights
to use of such material (lecture notes, examples, tests and quizzes,
instructor guides and so on). On-line and modular delivery is highly
preferable. Coordination between material developed by others will be
vital. Anticipated funding levels are $50K p.a. per grant.
Individuals or groups interested in participating or being funded for
either program should file an Expression of Interest using the following format:
Expression of Interest in Education and Training Support
- Names of Principal Investigator(s) and contact information
- Program interest
- Use of Educational Materials; and/or
- Development of Educational Materials
- What materials would you wish to see developed that you would use?
- What materials would you be interested in developing (please summarise
the content, deliverables, timeframe, and outline a budget)?
